The MPS5000 series frequency-modulated radar level gauge is an advanced measurement system based on frequency-modulated continuous wave technology. The frequency-modulated radar level gauge emits continuous microwave signals through an antenna sensor, with the transmitted signal's frequency linearly modulated by a sawtooth wave. When these continuously emitted microwave signals encounter the surface of the measured medium, a sudden change in dielectric constant causes partial reflection of the microwave energy, which is then received by the lens antenna system.
